Community VS Content what is best way to connect?

Good communities have strong member-to-member relationships. Members find other members interesting, they chat with them, and they find value from the relationships they build with each other.

This is different from the way you typically "add value" online.

Content creation platforms like Tiktok, YouTube, Instagram, etc. have a 1-to-many structure. The influencer creates content (adds value) and people follow them. The followers don't talk to each other, they only care about the content.

The biggest mistake people make when they try to build community is treating it like the typical 1-to-many platforms...

Posting "value" in a community 1-3 times per day doesn't work. I've seen influencers do this and wonder why nobody is engaging.

So what do you do?Think about it this way:

Audience builders provide answers.
Community builders ask questions.

What questions can you ask your community that encourage them to participate and contribute in meaningful ways?

What questions can you ask that will get members learning about each other, talking to each other, and building relationships?

This is a forgotten skill in the modern world.

Social networks aren't called social networks anymore... They're called "social media" platforms. Media (content) has eroded human relationships.

People are craving community (human relationships) more than ever.

The creators who build community will have a huge advantage in the coming years. Media (content) will act as ads → community will act as the funnel → and community will act as the product.
